VAV & Outdoor Terminal Units

This course is designed to promote an understanding of VAV and the concept of air movement, including machine components, system types, and controls. Coursework will focus on the evolution of the VAV system with a focus on current types of equipment, such as pneumatic, electronic and fan powered systems along with outdoor air terminal units. Upon completion, students will have learned how to identify special tools and calibration techniques needed to work on VAV systems; how to check the system, perform system tests, perform seasonal start-up procedures, apply service maintenance and understand how the systems operate.
